Vehicle In-Transit Information Entry
The
system allows you to enter in-transit information
when factory invoices are received. A factory communication
link provides electronic transmission of vessel inventory
and factory invoices before vehicles have been embarked.
Benefits...
Knowledge of vehicle in-transit information results
in a more responsive, efficient operation. You can
pre-allocate vehicles, giving dealers the ability
to sell vehicles that are en route. This information
also provides a basis for port preparation and receiving
activities and more accurate delivery date estimates
to dealers and customers.
Reconciliation of Factory Shipments
After
a ship arrives at the port, shipment receiving information
can be compared to factory invoice data to verify
received inventory.
Benefits...
Shipment discrepancies are easily recognized. This
allows you to make prompt reconciliation with the
factory and ensures accurate accounting of all vehicles.
Cost audits ensure that you are correctly invoiced
for the inventory received.
Accounting Hold Audits
A
vehicle is placed on hold if a discrepancy exists
between the expected cost calculated by the system
and the actual factory cost, if its wholesale price
is overridden, or if a dealer credit is issued. This
hold status suspends the vehicle's movement through
the system until the transaction is reviewed and/or
corrected, and the vehicle is released.
Benefits...
These controls assure that exception transactions
are correct and appropriate. They provide an audit
flag that must be addressed before additional processing
and movement on vehicles in question can occur.
Multiple Distribution Points (Ports)
The
system provides for unlimited distribution points
(ports).
Benefits...
These controls assure that exception transactions
are correct and appropriate. They provide an audit
flag that must be addressed before additional processing
and movement on vehicles in question can occur.
